Introducing Pawtraits by Sue, quality drawings of your beloved pets.
When I started out, I bought myself a tin of graphite pencils and drew Milo, my sister's gorgeous labrador, as a present for her birthday. She loved the portrait, so buoyed up by her positivity, I began drawing my family's pets as presents for Christmas and birthdays. Next, I practised on my friend's dogs (and cats) and before I knew it, found myself being asked to draw for other people and 'Pawtraits by Sue' was born. After a while, people started to enquire about colour portraits. I declined at first as I had no idea what media to use. Then after searching on the internet, I found some tutorials by the brilliant pastel pencil artist, Colin Bradley, and once I got a feel for the pastel pencils, I realised that I had found the perfect medium for me. Consequently, I no longer do the black and white portraits but I have kept all the photos because they illustrate how my drawings have developed and also because I know practically all these cats and dogs and they are now part of my extended furry family! All portraits are framed and mounted (unless you specify otherwise) and are a lasting tribute to your furry friends. If you're stuck for Christmas and birthday presents, then look no further! All you have to do is send me (via e-mail or your mobile phone) a couple of good quality, clear, close up photographs of your pet. If it's a surprise gift, then a spot of sneaky snapping with your mobile phone when you get the chance should do the trick, or even snaffle a few from your friends' facebook accounts! I'm sure they'll be delighted with the results. Please have a look around this website to see the portraits I have done so far, and meet the lovely animals I have had the pleasure of drawing. Thank you for your interest. |
